Moon&Stars is completely cash-free. On the whole festival area, you have the possibility to pay your consumption with the following means of payment:
If you don’t have one of the payment methods listed above or don’t want to use it, you can purchase a Moon&Stars Cashless Card at the information stand in front of the post office or at selected bars and load it with the desired amount.
What is Cashless Payment?
The Cashless system is a card-based payment system that abolishes cash and enables faster, easier and more secure payment at the festival. The Cashless Card can be purchased at the festival with a custom amount (up to a maximum of CHF 250.-). At the festival the consumption will be paid with the Cashless Card and the amount will be deducted from the card balance. The Cashless Card can be loaded at a cash point on the festival grounds.
What is a Cashless Card?
The Cashless Card is a plastic card in credit card format with an NFC chip (Near Field Communication). It is exclusively valid for Moon&Stars 2019 and can be disposed of after repayment of the remaining balance.
How do I get my Cashless Card?
You can buy the card at the Cashpoint at the information desk in front of the post office building and at selected bars on the festival grounds.
How can I load my Cashless Card?
During the festival you can load the Cashless Card with cash, debit card, PostCard and credit card.
How can I pay with a Cashless Card?
The purchase amount is shown on the display.
Hold the card still at the terminal until the amount is debited and the new balance is shown on the display.
I have ordered too much and the balance on the Cashless Card is not sufficient.
The procedure here is the same as for cash. The order must be cancelled. You visit the next cash point and top up your Cashless Card with new credit or tell the staff your new order after the cancellation.
How much does the Cashless Card cost?
The Cashless Card is free. There is no deposit for the Cashless Card. At Moon&Stars the Cashless Card can be loaded with any amount at a cash point.
Can I only pay cashless?
All food and drink stands, bars and merchandising stands only accept cashless payment with credit or debit cards and Cashless Cards.
How many Cashless Cards can I purchase?
Every festival visitor can purchase as many tickets as he likes. However, due to the Money Laundering Act, if you have more than two Cashless Cards, you must identify yourself with your ID. Cash withdrawals are only possible for a maximum of two cards.
Where can I see the remaining balance?
At the festival you can check your balance at any time at a cash point, but also at all food and drink stands. In addition, your remaining credit always appears on the display after payment.
What happens if the cashier does not accept my Cashless Card?
The Cashless Card can be checked at the information desk in front of the post office. If the Cashless Card is defective, the card is withdrawn, and the existing balance is transferred to a new card.
How can I reclaim my remaining Cashless Card balance?
During the festival you can withdraw the credit at a cash point. After the festival until the end of August, you can request your remaining balance via the repayment form at www.moonandstars.ch/cashless . As a gesture of goodwill any credit not reclaimed by the end of August can be requested for a fee, by post, using a form. However, you must send in your Cashless Card.
I still have a Cashless Card from last year - can I still use it at Moon&Stars 2019?
No, last year’s Cashless Cards can no longer be used in 2019. If you still have a balance on the card, you can send the Cashless Card by post to the following address: MSF Moon and Stars Festivals SA, Piazza Grande 3, CH-6600 Locarno. Please do not forget to include the following information: First name, surname, street, postcode, city and bank account (IBAN number) as well as the name of the account owner. At the festival itself, you can reclaim the remaining credit at the information stand in front of the post office building.
Can I load Euro on the Cashless Card?
Yes, this is possible at an exchange rate of 1:1.
Who can I contact if I have problems?
If you have any questions, you can contact us at email@example.com . During the festival, service personnel will be available at the Cashpoint information desk in front of the post office building to answer your questions.
Will my consumption be saved with my name?
No, personalized data is not stored and evaluated in connection with consumption.
What happens if I lose my Cashless Card or it is stolen?
Please treat your Cashless Card like cash. Any remaining credit can unfortunately not be refunded.
